As general counsel for numerous small to mid-sized corporations, including private universities and independent grocers, Ms. Kim has provided guidance across a spectrum of transactional and litigation areas. These include corporate governance, business operations and management, competitive practices, contracts, employment matters, and franchise investment law. With a background in International/Comparative Government and Policies, coupled with hands-on experience in managing independent grocery chains in the United States and holding officer positions in various overseas corporations, Ms. Kim understands the significance of asset planning and management in our increasingly globalized world.
In her litigation practice, Ms. Kim has effectively represented individuals and businesses in diverse cases involving shareholder disputes, partnership conflicts, wage and hour litigation, wrongful termination, failure to employ or promote, breach of employment contract, PAGA, and wage and hour class action.
Furthermore, recognizing the importance of estate planning and trust administration, Ms. Kim assists individuals, families, and business owners in crafting strategies to preserve, manage, and transfer their wealth efficiently. Prior to joining SKLG, she was a member of a distinguished international litigation firm in Los Angeles.
PRO-BONO/COMMUNITY SERVICE — As part of her ongoing efforts to serve the public, Ms. Kim served as a featured weekly guest speaker on a Korean-American legal radio broadcast in Los Angeles from 2014 to 2018. She has also served as a volunteer arbitrator for the California State Bar Mandatory Fee Arbitration since 2011.
