As general counsel to many small to mid-size corporations, including private universities and independent grocers, Ms. Kim has counseled clients in a variety of transactional and litigation fields, including but not limited to corporate governance, business operations and management, competitive business practices, contracts, employment-related matters, and franchise investment law. As a litigator, Ms. Kim has successfully represented individuals and businesses in litigation and settlement involving products liability, class action and mass tort, corporate litigation including shareholder and partnership disputes, and employment. She also has successfully appealed cases for and against banks and financial institutions involving fraudulent transfers and unfair business practices.
With her educational background in International/Comparative Government and Policies, hands-on business experience in actual operations and management of independent grocery chains in the United States in the past, and as an officer of various corporations overseas, Ms. Kim recognizes and appreciates the importance of asset planning and management in the increasingly globalizing international community where individuals manage, operate, and own assets intercontinentally. She also focuses in the areas of estate planning, probate, and trust administration to assist individuals, families, and business owners with the planning and administration of their estates and businesses to obtain the most desirable, advantageous, and tax efficient course of action to preserve, manage, and transfer their wealth.
Prior to joining SKLG, Ms. Kim was a member of a prominent international litigation firm in Los Angeles.
Ms. Kim has also been the designated guest speaker for a legal radio broadcast stationed in Los Angeles for the Korean-American community since 2014.
